Could be both, I have had this for many years and have learn what i can and can not have with the "grain" family. Most flour used in these types of products use or has gluten in them. Try to stay away from breads, and grains, cereals and other products you feel you could have an issue or attack like this later on.
Try locating rice made products or use rice flour in your recipes.
I know its been hard to cut out those cakes and cookies I so dearly loved.. but one in a blue moon, I will eat just one, otherwise I stay away from what hurts.

it doesn't mean you're allergic. allergic usually means you absolutely can not eat it or you'll get violently ill. you could just be intolerant.... which can make you uncomfortable with anything from rashes to belly aches, headaches to IBS. gluten is not good for any one and doesn't really have any good things going for it, so it's definitely not going to hurt anything by cutting it out of your diet. make sure you're still getting whole grains though such as corn, wheat germ (the good part of wheat and what's usually cut out), rye, barley, and oats.

yes, or you could have a food intolerance, which is practically the same. If you feel better, keep avoiding the foods that bother you. Your life will be better for for it.
