40 million Americans are estimated to have pollen allergies, but many of us are not aware of it because we confuse allergy symptoms with a common cold.

Why is it difficult to tell the difference?
Many people have difficulty seeing the difference on whether they just have a cold because it’s cold and they have a runny nose, or whether it is because they have a pollen allergy. Notice whether your symptoms appear at the same time of the year and if they come, while pollen in the air rises, then you can see if there is a system in it.

Look at your snot
And then you will have to break with vanity and study your snot – it can tell you if your runny nose is allergy:
Take a look at the color of your snot. If it is clear and transparent, and continues to be so, then it is typically because you have an allergy. If it has a color, becomes yellow or green, it is because , there is inflammation in and then you have a cold.
You cannot do anything to avoid getting pollen allergy, but this does not mean that you cannot do anything to reduce the inconvenience:

Three tips to reduce the allergy discomfort:

1. Typically most pollen will be released in the middle of the day. Therefore, avoid running or being physically active outside at the time, so you can spare your lungs. Run instead in the morning, afternoon or evening.
2. If you have to run, cycle or otherwise be physically active outdoors during the middle of the day, be sure to be proper medicated.
3. When you have hay fever, there is a risk that it may develop into asthma if you are not properly medicated. Be sure to keep your airways clear – do so by breathing through your nose instead of through the mouth. This way you avoid dragging pollen directly into the lungs.

If your allergy includes all types of pollen, it is first in September, where pollen season decreases, you can safely move around outdoors without discomfort.

People suffering from chronic illness often also experience problems with their sex life.

Sexuality is important to prioritize when you are chronically ill. If you have sexual problems, it may lead to a vicious cycle of misunderstanding, frustration, lack of intimacy, poor communication with your partner, relationship problems and poorer quality of life, which ultimately may worsen your illness.

Too many chronically ill people experience intimacy problems that really destroys their happiness and wellbeing.

Have sex and take control of your disease
Psychologist specializing in psychological counseling says that it is all about taking control of the illness.

The worst thing you can do is to pull away from the world, your partner, your interests, even though it may be what you most want. But understand that when you have sex, you are using a part of your healthy side, and thereby removing yourself from your illness. You take control.

To have sex in spite of the fact that your eczema is visible, or that your asthma may be triggered, is to recognize yourself as a whole person, so they say: there is a part of me that is still healthy.

Fact: Allergy is the 5^th leading chronic disease in the U.S.

The amount of birch pollen in the atmosphere rises significantly during early spring, causing many people to suffer flu or hay fever-like symptoms. Every year it catches thousands of new arrivals to these shores by surprise – some of whom have never had an allergy problem before.

According to Janne Sommer, a biologist who is the head of pollen monitoring at Astma-Allergi Danmark, one million people in Denmark will suffer from a birch pollen allergy over the coming three or four weeks – just under 20 percent of the population.

“The birch pollen season is short but very intensive, and the beginning of May will be the worst for sufferers,” she said.

Symptoms – which include a runny nose, coughing, puffy eyes and itchiness of the mouth, throat and ears – can even occur when there are no trees nearby because the pollen travels long distances in the air. Asthma-sufferers are the worst hit when the birch pollen count is high, experiencing increased breathing problems like wheezing and a shortness of breath.

Copenhagen is set for high pollen counts for the remainder of April and early May, with the birch pollen count predicted to reach an average of 600 particles per cubic metre. That’s extremely high considering 50 particles per cubic metre is a bad day for grass allergy sufferers.

“As long as the sun is shining and there is a light wind, there will be a lot of birch pollen in the air. But if we have a lot of rain and cold weather, the plants will not release the pollen,” said Sommer.

She recommends several ways of lessening the symptoms from taking medicine and drying your clothes in the dryer, to washing your hair before bedtime to avoid getting pollen in your bed and wearing sunglasses.

“If you have pets, like a dog or a cat, they can carry pollen in their fur, which might also trigger your allergy if you are particularly sensitive,” she said.

I am currently seeing a guy I really like but we aren’t official or anything. He knows that I am Celiac (gluten allergy that I will never grow out of) and is very careful about eating out and things like that. He knows that I can get sick easily but I have been reading that if someone who has ingested gluten kisses you, you can and will get sick. I’ve seen it happen first hand to my best friend who is Celiac as well. He and I are getting to that point and I’ve been able to avoid it up until now but it’s becoming almost impossible. I do want to kiss him (he is not Celiac) but if he had eaten something earlier I can still get sick. How do I bring this up to him without sounding like an high maintenance chick? He doesn’t mind me being Celiac but I can tell that it sort of bothers him and I don’t want to keep throwing these things at him to the point that he gets fed up and says forget it.
