Can you go to a restaurant and eat when you or your child has food allergies?

Yes you can! Of course it depends on how you feel about it, and of course HOW allergic you or your child is. I must admit that in the almost 9 years that our son has had food allergies, it’s not a lot of times we’ve eaten at a restaurant. Well, we’ve been to Mc Donald’s quite a few times But other than that, it’s been somewhat taboo-breaking for us. Afterwards, though, we’ve felt the same every time: “Well, it CAN be done!”

And yes, it can actually be done. We have just returned from a really good experience with a restaurant visit. We contacted the restaurant in advance and inquired about what they had on the children’s menu. We chose what we know our son likes, and inquired further into the cooking and preparation. We went through everything from ingredients to the cooking. Some of the things they could prepare to our specifications, other things we agreed to bring on our own.

When we got to the restaurant, we brought a cool bag with the food we had to bring on our own. During the meal the food was served for us just like a regular meal. Our son had a terrific experience, great food he could tolerate, and we as parents felt comfortable and could enjoy ourselves.

After such an experience, I say to myself: “we should do this a little more often.” I’m not sure if we get it done more often, but I would like to invite you to also do it sometimes. There are so many restrictions in daily life. Therefore, it is sometimes liberating to feel that you actually can do more than you think is possible in your everyday life.

I’m just about finished w/ a can of his formula and I’d rather not buy another one if I can just buy a jug of milk instead. He’ll be a year in a couple weeks and has never shown any allergy to whole milk yogurt or pasturized cheese. Do I have the okay or should I just wait for his appointment?

cows milk but he refuses to eat it .and he dose not eat the milk with glass . what should i do to solve these 2 problems ?

Milk is important for bodybuilders but I think raw milk is optimal. Unfortunately it’s illegal in some states and we have to drink highly indigestible version of real milk. I have a milk allergy (probably protein allergy) that usually makes my skin break out. Is it true that consuming digestive enzymes with milk will help alleviate this allergy?

i been trying to pinpoint what was wrong with my little boy and i did research and found out that he has a milk allergy just like his dad after i sat down with his nan and she told me that all the boys in the Family have the same thing, she said soya milk or goats milk is good for them does anyone know where i can purchase sny of the products???
His nans 2 boys have had it and her daughters 2 boys had the same thing, i have been to a baby doctor…

I do not want to feed him cow’s milk due to an allergy and I am concerned about giving him too much soy. I once met someone whose doctor told her how to doctor up rice milk to make it appropriate for her boys, and I would like to know how to do that. My doctor is really pushing me to feed him cow’s milk.

My son is 20 months old. it seems like when he has milk he either throws it up or gets diarreah. This has been happening for almost a week now. At first I thought he was sick. I don’t give him cups of milk that often, he gets calcium from other foods. Over the past month or more he has gotten sick requently and thinking back it seems to be after drinking milk. Some told me he may have a milk allergy or be lactose intolerant. The thing is he eats cereal with milk in it, he eats cheese and yogurt, he also eats ice cream. This doesn’t sound like an allergy or anything to me, maybe just a coincidence? what do you think?

I am wondering if anyone has a recipe for sweet potato pie that is dairy free? I have developed an allergy to milk but would love to make a sweet potato pie in the morning for thanksgiving. Could I just substitute soy milk in place of regular milk?

Did they grow out of it? My son cannot have any milk based formulas except for gentlease with the partially broken down proteins (although he doesn’t like the taste) and I cut all dairy out of my diet since I’m breastfeeding and it was making him sick. His pediatrician says he will most likely grow out of it…I’m sure hoping so!!

If your baby had issues like this, did they grow out of it? Around what age? He’s 5 months now and we tried reintroducing one thing to my diet last week and he got sick I’m thinking I will wait awhile before trying again because I hate making him sick.
